An archipelago of 115 picturesque islands in the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles are a true tropical paradise. Home to white-sand beaches kissed by clear waters that are filled with colourful coral and exotic marine life, it’s a fantastic destination to go diving and snorkelling. The Seychelles are also a haven for luxury hotel resorts, so you’re never far away from a relaxing spa to fully unwind into your holiday, many of which use local ingredients.
Easy to explore
The islands are easily explored by bicycle so borrow one from your hotel and discover the amazing flora and fauna and indigenous animal population, such as the enormous tortoises that roam freely across many of the islands and sea turtles which nest on Bird Island’s sandy beaches.
Serene spas
With so many luxurious hotels, there are plenty of ways to relax when you’re on one of our holidays to the Seychelles. Sometimes all you need is a little pampering, so visit a spa and you’ll find yourself whisked into a state of ecstasy as experienced therapists massage, wrap, scrub and soothe your body back to life. Many spas use ingredients locally derived from the islands, so you can enjoy the bounty of the Seychelles even as you enjoy a relaxing treatment.
Wonderful wildlife
Make sure you’ve charged your camera batteries to capture all the wildlife you could see – it’s one of the best places in the world to see animals in their natural habitat. The islands are known as the ‘Galapagos of the Indian Ocean’ for a reason: you can watch sea turtles nesting in broad daylight such is the safety of the beaches, or make friends with the giant Aldabra tortoises that roam free on the island of Curieuse. Bird watchers will be able to pick up their binoculars and gaze up at sooty terns, tropicbirds and even the incredibly rare magpie warbler which has been rescued from near-extinction thanks to conservation efforts of the islands’ many bird sanctuaries.
Dive in!
There’s plenty to explore below the waves, too. Diving and snorkelling are some of the most popular activities in the Seychelles. Under the sea you’ll find beautiful reefs and coral gardens, shipwrecks and lots of wildlife, such as whale sharks. Whether it’s your first dive or your fifteenth you’ll be amazed by what you can see and there are plenty of ferry transfers so you can island hop as you please. .
